The Sound of Ignorance
Written December 26, 2018
There was a voice
I did not hear it
As ancient as the
Distant pyramids
As liquid as the
Silkin stars
Barred by no fence
And marred with scars
Perhaps I’ll heed it another day
For now I’d rather stay away.
There was a voice
As pure as silver
My god I wish
I did not kill her
She was frail
She was small
Perhaps did not exist at all
But she was there, oh yes indeed
That little voice I did not heed
Because I was filled with hate and greed
That silent voice I did not heed.
