Food Chain
Written March 18, 2020
The lizard who sits
Clinging to mesh
Beady eyes smiling
He is the poet
Hands widen in each
Direction
Scaled body lowers
Scaled red flag spreads
Proclaiming I am the master
Of the universe
The hawk sits pretty
Thinking otherwise
And I watch from my window

I read your poem and I can”see it” all from my window. These lines are vivid and real. Simple yet brilliant.
