15
Written October 11, 2019
At first:
A sunrise.
It touches a new world,
Welcoming it into existence,
Spreading joy like honey.
Our eyes are round and full,
And we absorb this light,
This light that will last
But for an instant.
Now:
We see that there is a horizon.
That there is an end to this beginning.
At times clouds gather,
Our souls folding inward,
Like black holes with
Blazing storms
Ringing in our ears.
But, my friend, such is life.
There must be one beginning.
You can choose your end.
Now:
We see that there is light
Beyond the horizon.
We understand there is a glow
Burning at infinite depths.
So:
Laugh,
Smile.
Now:
You are 15.
